So, the last couple of weeks with the DDC, combat has revolved around two statues animated by an eidolon spirit. These undead spirits are created from the faithful by gods as protectors of sacred (or unholy) spaces. While terrifying to see, and resistant to being turned by clerics, eidolons have no physical attacks – instead they can inhabit and animate ritually prepared sacred statues.
In this instance, there were two statues set in the chapel. First one, then the other, served as vessels for the eidolon. It took some time before the DDC realised that the spirit and the decorations on the statue pointed to them being related to The Fury – a dark deity of passion and anger.
On an even more disturbing level, the statue bore a striking resemblance to a member of the DDC
